About us

Fresh thinking. Big impact.

Flequity Ventures is an independent consultancy which helps businesses to improve outcomes for their customers experiencing vulnerability, delivering social impact at scale.

We aim to inspire innovation to disrupt financial abuse and to address gender bias in financial products. It’s our contribution to closing the economic gap for women.

We’re a small business with a big business background, bringing our experience from implementing large scale transformations to help our clients to reimagine and redesign products and services to be more flexible, safe and equitable.

We create bespoke teams with the right expertise for each project, drawing on our strategic partnerships with experts from the not for profit sector and tapping into a collective of consultants committed to financial safety.

Meet the founder

Catherine Fitzpatrick has established and led specialist customer vulnerability teams at two of Australia’s leading banks, drawing on more than two decades of experience in diverse roles across ASX-listed companies, the not-for-profit sector, government and journalism.

As Founder and Director of Flequity Ventures, she builds trusted relationships with clients, unlikely partnerships across sectors, and provides advice and pragmatic solutions based on her unique blend of experience in customer operations, complaints, public policy, external affairs, sustainability and customer advocacy.

Catherine holds a number of government and university advisory and governance positions. She is the author of the first in a series of Design to Disrupt discussion papers for the Centre for Women’s Economic Safety and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales School of Social Sciences.

She is known for her passion for gender equality and the role business can play to end family and domestic violence. After instigating analysis that found patterns of abuse in payment descriptions, Catherine successfully advocated for the Australian banking industry to take collective action to respond.

Recognised nationally in 2018 as an AFR|Qantas 100 Women of Influence for her work as the architect of Commonwealth Bank’s domestic and family violence strategy, Catherine is regularly invited to speak at events.
